Day 83: spent most of the day on the train to Salzburg. So when we arrived, we decided to walk a bit of the old town before it got dark and too cold for even Canadians like us. Near the Salzburg cathedral there is this awesome gold globe sculpture and an active game of street chess going at all times. Bronwyn and Finn were taking notes so when we go back tomorrow they'll be ready!

Day 81: first day of our European vacation! Railing down by the shore at lake Zurich.

 day 79: miss b was given these daffodils by our neighbor and they started opening today.  so springy!

Day 78: went to the theatre tonight with Allison and the Vervs. Our next door neighbor Doug was in God of Carnage. Very funny and well done! If your in Calgary, definitely check it out! Day 77: the sun peeked out for a few hours and then...more snow. This is spring right?

#11 in the brooch-a-week project!  revisited my ocd dots on wood line and combined it with a distressed granulation heart.

 day 74: miss b and her good friend s.  all that cheering worked, the flames won!

 day 75: first time in a spin class.  i am going to be in so much pain tomorrow!

day 76: an now for some comic relief on this dreary, wintery sunday!  (he really has no shame!)

 day 72: miss b informed me she doesn't take good pictures.  she took this.  ummm, yea kid, you do.

day 73:  a work-in-progress shot from the studio.  doing a couple of brooches with the painted dots.  we'll how those go!

day 71: dentist day for the kidlets.

 day 68: went to a fun romans v scots party where a lot of gladiators were in attendance...and one very irreverent pope :)

 day 69: another fun day of sledding.  finn and his buddy insisted on lugging home these huge snowballs!

day 70: i TRIED to make a lovely new dish in the crockpot (thanks lisa!).  however, trip shopping conspired against me and it cooked a little longer than it should have.  in case you don't recognize that 'oatmeal-like substance', it's rice :)  nice flavor though.  we named it 'jambalaya oatmeal'.  the kids were not impressed.

these are smaller brooches, about the size of a quarter.  all sterling and fine silver with two small beach stones riveted on to #10.

Day 66: kids got in 4 or 5 runs before we started feeling frost bitten! I predict more tobogganing this weekend :)

day 59: finn went downhill skiing for the first time and did great!

 day 60: bronwyn was channelling her inner paparazzi when she took this shot of me.

 day 61: hearty calgarians enjoying an outdoor bbq the first week in march!

day 62: winter storm warming.  ummm....ya think?!  4-5 inches in the last 3 hours!

day 57:  it was a hang out in front of the fire kind of night.  here, the dying embers.

day 58:  the pink mountains had already disappeared by the time i got to the hill, but the full moon dipping below the chinook arch was still pretty cool.

#53-56 and BAW52/8

 day 53: today i participated in 'the meal' by the sketchbook project.  at 10am est, people from all over the world posted pix of what they were eating, sharing in a virtual meal together.  to check out some of the submissions, search #themeal on twitter.

day 54: a sunbeam, a fire and a cozy bed.  this dog is quite possibly in heaven :)

day 55: someone is excited for the flames v coyotes hockey game!  

 day 56: my submission this week for BAW52.  this is #8 and another layered window brooch.  it's fairly small, so i used a tie tack pin this time.

 day 51: miss b with her science fair project.  all about metal, of course ;)

day 52: happy 14th birthday to our furr-baby mouton! a little slower, a little lumpier, but still going strong :) we love you, mou-mou!

 day 46: 2 hours of soccer on a friday night?  hell yea!

 day 47: went to Gravity for drinks after dinner with P and V.  so much great, live music!
