RAW52 #16: i've been crazy busy getting ready for my spring show which is this saturday and forgot to post! the lighting today was terrible, but here is #16. another ocd dots with a fun spring color combo. i like that this one is a little more moderate in size and that you can see your finger through the hole.

still having fun with the ocd dots. this one is also quite large, but i couldn't help myself! i love this ceramic button i bought from kylie parry on etsy and just had to find a way to showcase it.

RAW #14

spring FINALLY seems to have sprung here in calgary! and in that spirit, i give you lots of green and pink and flowers :)

this new one is more ocd dots painted on wood. the 'window' shows a glimpse of a recycled gift card. all the elements are riveted together.

rear view. this ring has a nice weight to it, largely in part to the full sheet of silver covering the back side.

RAW #13

I had a ton of fun with this ring! It is two-sided, one for day, one for night and features a figure in the 'window'. Though the wood stands quite tall, almost 3" off the top of the finger, the ring sits very comfortably and upright when on the hand. The wood is riveted onto the sterling silver ring assembly.

super crappy week and not a lot of time to work or even photograph, so my apologies. this is another from the layered series. it's quite thick since it uses 5 different recycled gift cards.

RAW #10

it's been a crazy week (i say that a lot)! simply too much to go into, but it kept me out of the studio for the majority of the week. and so, this week's ring is almost late too.

still on the dots kick, but tried a new ring assembly this time! very comfortable to wear and can be worn on multiple fingers without any trouble which is interesting. the wood piece is quite big and extends across roughly 3 fingers when worn.

RAW #8

another painted wood with granulated disk on sterling silver ring assembly. this time i left the granulation shiny instead of distressing and adding liver of sulphur.

try to ignore all the new-puppy battle scars :)

busy, busy, busy week with the new pooch, but loving every minute of it! he does not however support my art habit :) he seems to prefer me to play with him instead of in the studio. i did manage to get another ring done this week though...

this week's ring needed to be fast so i did another painted wood one. looks kind of like a spider doesn't it? the wood is riveted to a sterling silver ring assembly.

RAW #6

after a short delay here is RAW #6! Figo is being picked up we speak so more pix of him later!

this first pic is for Jewel. you wanted to see the back/assembly? i use fine silver rivets to attach all the elements. the ring shank is soldered to another silver disk that is riveted through the wood and top silver.

this new ring is more of my ocd dots coupled with a large disk of my distressed granulation.

its a bit heavier than the other dot rings due to the metal top level, but still really nice on.

Puppy Fever

i finished RAW #6 today, but before posting that (tomorrow), just had to share....

we found out which puppy we are getting! meet Mr. Black! or as we like to call him, Figo (pronounced 'feego')! those of you who know us well are probably wondering what wine that is. well this time it's not! he's named after a real madrid soccer player from portugal ;)

RAW #5

okay, i admit it, i might have gone a little crazy with this one. this is one of two mongo disks that i painted with my ocd-dot design. originally they were going to be pendants, but i was holding it in my hand and it screamed to be a ring. no joke, true story. so here it is really big, though lightweight and comfy, ring.

i was a bit rushed this week, life getting in the way, but did another painted wood ring. this time it has raised areas and tried to incorporated the rivets into the painting instead of placing them randomly.

and man, just realized i really need some lotion! :)
