some of you may remember when i participated in ring-a-week 2011.  for 2013, i joined the brooch-a-week group on flickr.  i got a weeeee bit of a slow start.  i just now posted my first brooch for week one!  oh well, better late than never.  so my BAW52/1 is the brooch on the far right.  the other two will get posted in the next couple of days.  all three are layers of recycled gift cards, sterling silver and fine silver rivets.

Mostly worked in the studio today finishing my brooches (pix tomorrow), but did come up for air and food and caught this amazing sunset.

Finally, finally, finally got back in the studio. I signed up to participate in BAW52, that's brooch a week, and had yet to actually finish one! So I have one finished and am working in two more using my recycled gift card/layered window design. Here you see works in progress :)

Summative exams have arrived again in our house, this time midterms. This is a common sight over the next couple of weeks. Keep up the hard work B!

This is actually yesterday's post, which I forgot to post. Ian discovered a couple of new bakeries on his way home from soccer. One of the delectables he brought home were these cheese bread sticks. I have no idea what the extra seeds and spices are, but they are super yum!

I reaallly need to think of him like this, all mature and grown so I hardly recognize him. Epic, two year old, core meltdown tantrum tonight. Gotta love him :) keeping us on our parental toes!

Took the kids to see the Harlem Globetrotters tonight. What a blast from the past! I saw them when I was a kid and its basically the same show! Got to sit in one of the corporate boxes and got their basketballs signed by 'Tiny'. All 7'8", 325 lbs of him! They had a blast :)

the snow that was suppose to come tomorrow showed up early and with a vengeance!  it's been snowing for 2 hours and we already have at least 3 inches.  made for a very scary drive home from soccer!

two pix tonight...one my husband took on his drive home and the other i took out our front door.  both are on the grainy side because it's still snowing!

miss b's ankle is already doing a bit better!  only used the crutches for half the day!

We had a nice relaxing evening in front of the fireplace tonight. Perfect end to a busy day.

Day of soccer, bronze medals and then emergency room visits for sprained ankles. Fun, fun now off to bed!

I missed most of the day, all the sunset and part of the evening sorting through kids' rooms and closets. So thanks to the hubby for snapping this lovely shot of the sunset!

Hope you all had a fantastic New Years! I was skimming along on fb and noticed a fellow artist was challenging himself to post a new photograph everyday. What a great idea! Think I'll try it! Not all of them will be great, but I'll try to at least keep them honest and interesting. So here's my first pic for January 1, 2013. We had a mellow day hanging out with friends and capped our day off with s'mores in the fireplace. I'm still twitching from all the sugar!

another new enamel piece showcased at the fall sale.  done in black and blue, i riveted the enamel to a sterling silver disk for some contrast.  this one is still available!

i added colored beads to the cups before adding the epoxy.

this one sold at the show, but i'll be making more in different colors, so watch for them on etsy!

extension of the granulated series....hearts!  i also did these distressed and darkened for those that like things a little more rustic.

the fall show on saturday was a huge success!  thank you so much to everyone who came out!
