A is For...

well, i 've been more than a little slow getting new work, or even a note, posted here! sorry about that :( things have been crazy busy with visitors and getting ready for my spring show on june 10th. the kids factor in there somewhere too!

at any rate, this is a new series of aceo's that i've been developing for a while now. each one is comprised of 5 or more little 2unds (that is drawings smaller than 2 inches). i started with A (an obvious choice you might say) and will continue with letters as fancy strikes. hope you enjoy them! this one is available on ebay until tuesday.

cheers and have a great weekend!

Seasonal Colors

i adore the changing of the seasons! sadly, here in calgary, we don't get the full 4 every year. it's mostly winter and a couple months of summer. but right now it is definately spring and it is glorious! happy spring everyone!

Illustration Friday - Fat

thought i'd stick with this whole ocean theme i've got going on. seemed only fitting to do a puffer fish, showing being fat can really come in handy! this is another mini too, 1" x 1", which will be up for sale on ebay on monday the 8th.

Illustration Friday Part 2 - Under the Sea

ever wonder what really goes on under the sea? crab theatre of course! this one is titled Crab Act and will be available on ebay on monday. cheers!

Illustration Friday - Under the Sea

well this month's theme for the lounge link, mermaid, was particularly challenging for me, i just don't do people very well. and so i opted to do the absolute smallest person i could! this little mermaid is only 1"x1" and is currently available on ebay. coincidentally it also fit perfectly with the illo friday theme, under the sea!

Hermit Crab

i've been feeling crabby lately, can you tell?

Lone Crab

just posted this little 1x1 on ebay...

Offspring

well, i had so much fun on daggie and harold, i thought they should actually hook up for the long term. they work fast! here is their offspring! it's anybody's guess if it's a girl or a boy!

Illustration Friday - Monster

Daggie and Harold: When Monsters Go On the Prowl

Can't you just see the ad? :Single purple male seeks single green female. Conservative, but not afraid to have a good time."

these started out as fingerprint art, but you can hardly see the fingerprints anymore! both of these are a mere 1"x1" and will be available as a set on ebay.

Crab Cakes

these crustacian connisseurs are currently available on ebay.

Garden of Eve

i belong to a private chat group of incredible female artists. the group, called the lounge link, does a theme week every once in a while. this week the theme was 'eve'. since i'm not very proficient at doing figures, i chose to do mostly landscape and the backside of eve! with just a hint of her backside, eve is feeling a bit cheeky! this drawing is available for purchase on ebay, which you can link to at the right.

Waterworld

i have a friend that loves beach and crab themed art, so thought i'd try my hand. :)

Stand Down from Red Alert

okay, computer crisis averted. new computer finally working beautifully and old computer has coughed up the files. it should be happy though. we didn't trash it completely or throw it off a cliff, but gave it kids games to play all day! who wouldn't love hearing sponge bob laugh maniacally day in and out?

Bald spot

have you ever been so freaking frustrated that you actually pulled your hair out? i am almost there! i have this beautiful new computer and can't get it functioning properly!!!! and my old computer has a death grip on my files and refuses to burn them onto disk. i swear i think it KNOWS its being replaced and is just getting even. ugh!

Illustration Friday - Insect

i was feeling silly today. here's my submission for illofriday...'butterflies love cheese'
cheers!

A Departure

decided to veer away from traditional landscape ideas for a while and do something abstract-ish. this one is called 'spatial clockworks' and will be available on ebay on monday the 6th.

Bring on the Sun

with about a foot of snow in the yard, flurries coming down as we speak and multiple deadlines, i'm ready to hang out my 'gone fishing' sign and escape to that desert island!
this one is a 2"x2" currently available on ebay.

Illustration Friday - Tea

this week's illofriday was a bit more challenging for me since i mostly do landscapes. how to turn 'tea' into a landscape? i started channeling bonsai and teacup poodles for inspiration. this was the result, cheers!

For the Joy of It

i can't believe it but this is my 100th art card! and they have given me such joy. i never thought of myself as much of a 2d artist (my main focus is jewelry), but they really are such fun! they certainly don't take as long to complete as metalwork does! so, if i was a fish and i wanted to jump for joy? this would be me.

snow day

well, we just got dumped on, big time! almost of foot of snow today and more to come. thankfully, i only had to leave the house once because driving was a nightmare! to battle the blizzard blues i decided to do some new little beach cards and dream of a sunny warm day with ocean breezes...
