well, as usual i am behind.  this time, with good reason.  last wednesday, our beloved dog, mouton, passed away and thursday, we left for a 6 day trip to new york and limited internet access.

but here, without fail, are the last 8 days...

 day 220: daddy had a business dinner the night we arrived, so we took ourselves out to Big Daddy Diner and had BIG shakes :)

 day 221: went to see the new Broadway show 'Let It Be'.  more of a concert/tribute and so good!  music was bang on.  guy who played Paul was especially good and the theatre was gorgeous.  this is the ceiling.

 day 222: had debated going to rockefeller center and top of the rock, but were feeling tired after our two hour bike ride in central park this morning.  instant regret when we saw this sunset from the lounge at the hotel!

 day 223: went to a yankee's game! gorgeous day for it and the yanks won :)

 day 224: miss B striking a pose at the brooklyn bridge, while we wait for our historic pizza :)

 day 225: travel day, but this cool sculpture hangs in the toronto airport.

 day 226: picked up our sweet figo from the pet resort.  clearly he had a blast!

day 227: another great run up on the hill with the feegster!

Day 219: today we lost our sweet boy, Mouton. 14.5 years wasn't enough. We miss and love you MouMou!

Day 218: kids had their first babysitting job today! Since it was two young boys they opted to work together. Did a great job and had fun!

 day 215: gorgeous night tonight! perfect for drinks with friends and hanging out by the fireplace in back.

 day 216: figo and i enjoying some rare daytime use of the air conditioner!

day 217: finn having a grand time playing hockey in the rain (and his pajamas)!

Day 214: lots of laundry and laying around...well at least the dogs were.

Day 213: first real bike ride of the year! 2.5 hours might have been a little ambitious, but we had fun!

day 212: miss B got new glasses today.  doesn't she look beautiful :)

 day 204: we've been having some pretty big storms of late.  they make for some pretty spectacular skies!

 day 205: tonight was finn's last soccer game, which they won!  figo was somewhat unimpressed :)

 day 206: finn's buddy slept over last night.  i think they got all of 2 hours of sleep, hence the happy but hung over looks :)

 day 207: great night with the stew-cams and a lovely evening for a walk to the overlook.

 day 208: the boutins bought this absolutely groovy little motorhome for touring across canada!

 day 209: spent the day gardening.  sore, but satisfying work!  ian took this panorama of the backyard when we were done.

 day 210: took mouton to visit gramma today.  wanted to see if he'd be okay staying with her instead of a kennel.  pretty sure he's okay with it. :)

day 211: love the, relatively new, food truck culture in calgary!  today i tried Montreal Smoked Meat Hash at the Red Wagon Diner.  super friendly peeps and delicious food!  check it out!

 day 201: today required 2 photos.  i like the first one best, but it requires some context, hence the second photo.  this is a super cool sculpture of an upside-down church, installed in our neighborhood.  it caused quite the controversy when it first arrived, but we love it.

 day 202: this dragonfly was most accommodating! he landed on the fence post and just sat there waiting for me to snap a few shots (with my iphone!).

day 203: yesterday spent the day watching the U18 Tier 1 girls team play (excellent and they won!) and then just drove around checking out newer neighborhoods. so not as many photo-worthy moments :) and today is just hanging at home....

Day 199: despite being jammed on a table with all the other plants (while the kitchen floor is being redone), the orchid has rebloomed with 7 gorgeous flowers!

Day 200: boys hanging out in the repurposed bathtub at our local coffee shop.

day 197: another beautiful calgary sky.  much prettier than my plastic-covered kitchen!

Day 193: tonight we walked down to the inglewood night market and encountered no less than 4 trains!

Day 195: another day at the stampede midway and more crazy winnings. Bishop squid!

Day 196: another beautiful Calgary sky.

 day 189: it rained most of the day, so we ended up having a movie marathon, which isn't terribly photo worthy.  luckily, right before bed, i noticed this beautiful moth just hanging out on the front door.

 day 190: we're very lucky to have a great view of the stampede fireworks for all ten days.  even from bed!

 day 191: go kart racers!

day 192: beautiful weather for both the stampede and winning stuffies on the midway!

Day 188: my beautiful cousins, Sydney and Alex, enjoying a relaxing first day in Calgary with Ian's homemade pizza. So glad you're here girls!

Day 186: tonight we had a soccer wrap-up party for 45 people! Aside from the monsoon, it was a great night. This is our little 'party pig' from Wild Rose beer!

Day 187: today the sun came out...AFTER the party. My sunflowers are looking a lot less drowned!

Day 184: Ian hung some lights in the tree. Doesn't the courtyard look pretty?

Day 185: post-flood, the Mosquitos are feeling randy. All the suckers do is breed! Invest in deet!

day 183: i'm astonished that we not only kept this orchid plant alive, but got it to bloom for a second season!

 day 181: finn and ian in kelowna for a boys' weekend/soccer tournament!  having a great time and the boys won gold!

day 182: happy canada day!
