Garden of Eve

i belong to a private chat group of incredible female artists. the group, called the lounge link, does a theme week every once in a while. this week the theme was 'eve'. since i'm not very proficient at doing figures, i chose to do mostly landscape and the backside of eve! with just a hint of her backside, eve is feeling a bit cheeky! this drawing is available for purchase on ebay, which you can link to at the right.

okay, computer crisis averted. new computer finally working beautifully and old computer has coughed up the files. it should be happy though. we didn't trash it completely or throw it off a cliff, but gave it kids games to play all day! who wouldn't love hearing sponge bob laugh maniacally day in and out?

have you ever been so freaking frustrated that you actually pulled your hair out? i am almost there! i have this beautiful new computer and can't get it functioning properly!!!! and my old computer has a death grip on my files and refuses to burn them onto disk. i swear i think it KNOWS its being replaced and is just getting even. ugh!

A Departure

decided to veer away from traditional landscape ideas for a while and do something abstract-ish. this one is called 'spatial clockworks' and will be available on ebay on monday the 6th.

with about a foot of snow in the yard, flurries coming down as we speak and multiple deadlines, i'm ready to hang out my 'gone fishing' sign and escape to that desert island!

this week's illofriday was a bit more challenging for me since i mostly do landscapes. how to turn 'tea' into a landscape? i started channeling bonsai and teacup poodles for inspiration. this was the result, cheers!

For the Joy of It

i can't believe it but this is my 100th art card! and they have given me such joy. i never thought of myself as much of a 2d artist (my main focus is jewelry), but they really are such fun! they certainly don't take as long to complete as metalwork does! so, if i was a fish and i wanted to jump for joy? this would be me.

snow day

well, we just got dumped on, big time! almost of foot of snow today and more to come. thankfully, i only had to leave the house once because driving was a nightmare! to battle the blizzard blues i decided to do some new little beach cards and dream of a sunny warm day with ocean breezes...

First Illustration Friday

well here it is, my very first illustration friday! it was a lot of fun designing around a theme that i didn't have to come up with. this week was "song". i thought alot about my mother for this one. she is quite the songbird and sings with the sweet adelines in asheville, north carolina. so mom, this one's for you!

well, i'm suppose to be working on my illustration friday submission, my first, buuuuttt...got one seriously snotty kid on my hands and nothing is getting done! the only upside? they do like to cuddle when they are sick. another green update coming soon!

well, here goes...my name is stacey, i'm an artist and i don't type with capital letters. i'm very new to all this blogging hoohaa and hope you won't be too bored! what's a day in the life? get up at an obscenely early time, get a shower if i'm lucky, dress and groom my two small children, feed them if they're lucky, drive them to school and then get a cup of coffee. okay, forget all that, this is where the real day begins...after a coffee! but seriously, i have two wonderful kids, a 6yr old girl and 3 year old boy and a fab hubby. life is good! i'll add more later and hopefully get into a groove, but hey its a start! cheers, stacey
